| Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with the stylized wave design (SEIGAHA) and splashing waves. Above the waves on each side is a single plover done in black lacquer with small gold inlays. Signed KOUSHIN on the front lower left hand side. The comb measures 3 3/8" long by 1 3/4" tall. | |||||||||||
