| Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with the stylized wave design (SEIGAHA) and chrysanthemum blossoms. The leaves and centers of the blossoms are in black lacquer with small gold inlays. Unsigned. The comb measures 3 7/16" long by 1 3/4" tall. | |||||||||||
