| Japanese Meiji Period extremely fine SHIBAYAMA and gold lacquer design fan. On one guardstick there are flowers, birds and insects done in fine gold lacquer and SHIBAYAMA inlays. The ribs also have the same design done in fine gold lacquer. On the other guardstick there are different shaped fans done in gold lacquer and flowers and insects done in SHIBAYAMA inlays. On the ribs the design continues with beautiful gold lacquer fans and insects. The base of the fan has an original mixed metal holder attached to the head of the fan with 2 original metal and ivory OJIME and original silk tassel. The fan measures 10 1/2" tall and 19 1/4" wide. | |||||||||||||||
