Japanese E. 20th C. Ceramic Sake Bottle
Japanese Early 20th Century large ceramic SAKE bottle. The large bottle has the name KAWA NO SACHI shop written on the bottle with another character written on the side. This other character is probably the logo for the shop. The beige colored slip has dark brown and black glaze used for the characters. Some of the dark brown black slip areas have been chipped off with time. These large containers were used by the restaurants and bars of the time and returned to the SAKE suppliers for refills. The large bottle measures 14 1/2" in height and 6" in diameter.
