Sarcophagus mask.
Wood covered with gesso and painted with a very attractive decoration.
The yellow face tells us that this mask was made for a woman and the lotus flower on the forehead combined with the ope eyes in combination with the nicely curved eyebrows and the full lips dates this mask to the Ramesside Period
Dating: 1307 - 1070 BC..Condition: Excellent, Stabile, All color original....Size: High 22,5 cm (9 inch) Wide 22 cm (8 4/5/) inch.
Provenance: Polish Aristocratic family, collected in the early 1900 s

PTAH depicted as NEB-MAΔT (Lord of Justice) He is carrying the Maat feather and has a Sn protective sybol on his right arm. (This is not to be confused with the more common Sa-sign).
The text reads as The mourned servant
..belonging to the city Nechen (which was named Hierakonpolis by the Greek later in history)
Late Period: 26th 30th Dynasty.

Wood Sarcophagus footpiece decorated with polychrome painting depicting two vertical lines of Hieroglyps stating: The offerings have been given for the Osiris
.The lines of text are flanked by 2 detailed Tyet figures. (The Isis knot)The origin of the sarcophagus was most likely Thebes.

In Chapter 2. a number of sarcophagi from which the style comes very close to this footpiece are depicted. Those sarcophagi were all found in the Priest cache at Deir El Bahari in Thebes (Luxor)
