AN UNUSUAL SMALL JAPANESE KAKIEMON DISH, CIRCA 1700.
The pierced holes are done before the glazing and firing. They are included in the decoration on the exterior and form the mouths of four lion heads. The interior has a typical Kakiemon dragon and pearl.
