A PAIR OF KYOTO POTTERY DISHES BY GYOZAN, CIRCA 1900 ~1920..
The substantially potted foliate dishes are made with the typical cream coloured Kyoto clay with a clear densely crackled glaze. The enamelling is very fine and consists of a mixture of red and gosu blue chrysanthemum flowers attracting many tiny butterflies. The decoration is continued on the back in the form of one single stem and the dishes are signed Gyozan. 8.1/4 inches (21cm) Diameter. Fine original condition with just some light rubbing to the gilded edges. In some of the photographs the blue appears to be mauve or lilac, this is just a trick of the light or rather the inability of digital photography to resolve the colours correctly. Please study the photographs. If you would like to see the photographs in a larger format or file size, which is with less compression, or you would like pictures of a particular detail please let me know. I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds, £ ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to your own currency, that is, the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP. International Money Orders or Cashiers’ Checks in GBP are also accepted. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union, as I don’t have an office nearby. |
