| This French Black Slate 8 Day Clock and Garniture Set is in Excellent Condition, Circa:1860. Featuring Movement marked “S. Mardi et Cie” “Medaille de Bronze.” which dates the clock to 1860. The dial is enamel with black painted Roman Numerals under a thick glass door. With metal lions heads and raised on paw feet, the whole crowned with a tazza and flanked by matching tazza shaped garnitures. Samuel Marti et Cie were clock makers in mid 19th century Paris the company’s recorded address in 1860 was Le Pays de Montbeliard.
