| This Serene Interior Scene of Mother and Child is in Excellent Condition, Hermann Knopf, (AUSTRIAN, 1870-1928). The painting is dated 1906, Hermann Knopf who enrolled in the Academy of Vienna in 1887 where he was a pupil of J.V. Burger. In 1891 he continued his studies in Munich under the direction of Alexander Liezen-Mayer before completing his studies at the atelier of Fernand Cormen in Paris . From 1898 he exhibited widely in Germany as well as exhibitions in Paris at the Salon and the St. Louis World Fair of 1906. In this Example his attention to detail is extraordinary in particular the manner in which the artist has painted the keen sense of light within the image. His paintings can be seen today at the Munich Museum of Fine Arts. Measuring 34"H x 28"W canvas alone, encased in a beautiful giltwood frame. Serious Inquiries are Welcome! | ||||||||||
