| This Stunning Oil on Canvas, "Roses dans une Verre", Albert André, (French 1869 - 1954) is in Excellent Condition. From his birth in Lyon, France on May 24, 1869, until his death in 1954, the artist Albert André experienced an exciting and interesting life. At the beginning of his career, Albert was involved in the French textile industry as a pattern designer for silk fabrics. It was not until 1889, at the age of twenty, that Albert traveled to Paris. There, he applied for admittance to the Julian Academy and was fortunate enought to study under the tutelage of William Bouguereau (1825-1905). Bouguereau studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and won the Prix de Rome in 1850. His realistic genre paintings and mythological themes have continued to be admired and enjoyed by many. Using color explosively, Albert has combined roses in shades of red and pink and even peach in the painting "Roses dans une Verre". The petals in the bouquet reflect a fine light in the composition while the flowers painted in coral and sapphire blue add depth to the arrangement. Albert skillfully added a book and a clay pot along with several pieces of paper. To the right of the arranged vase stands the side of an occasional chair upholstered in a striped material. The painting is in its original, carved and gilded frame. Measuring 33 7/8 x 33 7/8", Canvas Alone 25 1/2 X 25 3/4", Serious Inquires are Welcome! | ||||||||||
