Everything you look for in an outstanding piece of Folk Art can be found in this charming Adam and Eve. What is most rare is what it is carved from, a Manguay cactus.
Very few can carve this plant, after carving I was told it was covered with a sap or resin, then painted. I am not sure of the origin, it is probably from Mexico, there is one carver from New Mexico that works with this cactus. This piece is at least 25 years old.
