An established dealer of Native American crafts in San Francisco told me that the three fetish rings I offer here were the oldest she had ever seen. She also said they were important and sacred so this is why some one set them into silver and made them into rings. This Zuni bear fetish is shell, it is over a century old, the silver setting is over 50 years old. The ring is size 5, the bear fetish is about 3/4" long. This is a museum quality piece of Native American art.

This ring along with three others I list came from a collection of very old jewelry. It is a Zuni frog fetish that has been set into a silver mounting. I did not realize why someone took the time to set it into a ring until a Native American art dealer saw it and said it was the oldest fetish she had ever seen. The fetish is at least 100 years old, the silver setting is at least 50 years old. The ring is a size 6, the fetish frog is about 3/4" long. This is a very special piece.

This outstanding Navajo ring was not made for the tourist trade. It was made for and worn by a Navajo and is characteristic of their massive jewelry. I have owned it for over 40 years, it came from a top quality collection in Colorado and was bought as pawn before I purchased it. It is old, unmarked which also fits its origin. It is sandcast, it has top quality turqoise and natural red coral. It is 1 oz of silver, it is size 11 1/2. It is 1 1/8" at front height. It is as you see an honest s ...click for details

I purchased this unique, ornate Owl pin at an estate sale. I am not sure of the origin, all of the other pieces of silver were pre 1980 Mexican and American Indian silver. I think this piece may be European by the design and technique but it could also be Mexican. It is all hand fabricated with onlay discs of silver, wire and other details. It is 2 1/2" tall. It is marked 925, but has no signature or other stamp. It is in excellent condition and a work of outstanding craftsmanship

I am not the original owner of this outstanding pin, and I am not positive of age. I have found the stamped mark of FJ to be associated with a Navajo silversmith, I have not been able to find the full name. I also assume from the appearance that this is a Corn God. It is large, 2 1/4" long, 2" wide. It is heavy, 1 oz., marked sterling and back indicates it is a sand casting. It is outstanding in the appearance. It is in excellent condition and I assume that it is at least 30 years old.

Filigree silver rings like these were made in China at the turn of the last century for export trade and sale with in China. They have incredible silver work that is all hand done. This ring is a fine example of intricate filagree but it is unusual in that it is more stable by having a table top design. The ring is adjustable as these rings were, but it also has a very unique enclosed end to give it more stability. It has a nice piece of mostly white jade with a floral design carved into it.
