This unique snuff bottle depicts a resting horse. It is hand carved from Taga nut, also known as vegetable ivory. This material is very hard and durable, it is also very hard to carve. These taga pieces have been carved for centuries and hold up well, it does not decay. This material and subject is unusual for a snuff bottle. This piece was carved about 20 years ago and is 2" long. The stopper is bone with a metal spoon.

This is one of the best designs I have seen on a cloisonne egg. It has four dragon masks in the archaic style. Old cloisonne with colors that are fired in glass fused to copper or bronze base. The color comes to the surface, not like newer cloisonne that has layers of clear over color, or worse yet resin. It is about 2 3/4" tall and it will come with the gold painted wood stand you see in pictures.
