A charming elephant with a baby is the subject of this unusual snuff bottle. It is hand carved from Taga nut, a very hard durable fruit core that has been carved for centuries. This material undervalued due to the fact that is somewhat abundant, but it is probably the hardest natural material to carve. This great elephant is about 2 1/4" long. It has a bone top and metal spoon. Great details. About 20 years old.

Traditional Poets and Scholars, seven figures in all. It has a very nice gilded filigree stopper.I beautiful super quality bottle that is about 30 years old.

Very colorful porcelain Temple Lions from China. Like the ones that guard the Palaces and Temples and Homes. This pair will protect any entrance. Porcelain with overglaze red-brown color and applied gold paint. Somewhat crude painting of colors but the overall look is very charming. Not new, no damage. 6" tall and somewhat heavy, so a little more for shipping. Great pair, female with pup and male with orb-ball.

I am not sure of origin of this attractive deep carved vase. Probably Japanese, could be Korean. This type of export ware was sometimes called Poo Ware. It has brown glaze on a terracotta body. Deep recession has a wonderful Temple view with tiny shrine. A real collectible, no damage and 6" tall. Probably from the early third of the 20th Century.

Yes they are salt and pepper, but they were made by one of the finest porcelain-china companies that ever existed. Toshikane in Arita Japan. The company that made these 50 year plus old figures was famous for making top of the line small tiles for jewelry. Faces, fans, flowers, asian icons decorated their high fired china tiles. These tiles in jewelry sell for hundreds of dollars each. I did not know that this company made anything but jewelry insets until I found a pair of foo dogs and then thi ...click for details

Great sculpting and overglaze painting on this porcelain snuff bottle. Two boys piggy back. The topknot pulls out with a brass spoon. This bottle has an antique look, but I do not think it is more than 30 years old. The quality of the workmanship and painting make it a good addition to a collection. It is not marked and it is about 3 1/2" tall. No damage.

This is one of the best designs I have seen on a cloisonne egg. It has four dragon masks in the archaic style. Old cloisonne with colors that are fired in glass fused to copper or bronze base. The color comes to the surface, not like newer cloisonne that has layers of clear over color, or worse yet resin. It is about 2 3/4" tall and it will come with the gold painted wood stand you see in pictures.
