They were on display to show how fine the quality of work that this company could do. They did not want to sell these so I had to pay a very high price at the time in Hong Kong. The price is for both rug wall hangings. I purchased these wall hanging rugs in China in 1984. They were showpieces on display in a top of the line rug company showroom. They were not new when I purchased them so I would guess they are about fourty to fifty years old. They are two of the most detailed finely woven works I have seen. This is a real blown out chicken egg. It has been painted with watercolors and tempera and then laquered to protect it. It is a small masterpiece of Indonesian painting. Dancers and garudas decorate it. Every part of the egg surface if covered with a rich pattern of wonderful paintings. It is about 3" long and I will include a plastic stand.

A true work of reverse painters art. This bottle is a little older over 25 years. It is a very good quality of optically pure crystal glass. It has very fine calligraphy. It has a number of brilliant butterflies. This is one of the more aesthetically pleasing reverse painted bottles I have for sale. It has an agate stopper with a bone spoon It is 3 1/4" tall. Intense colors and outstanding calligraphy make this a very good bottle.

This porcalain snuff bottle is both primitive and charming. I know it is at least 60 years old, and I think is is closer to the turn of the last century. It is marked but the mark has worn off in parts. It has a jade stopper, probably not original but it does fit the piece and the time. It is 2 1/2" tall and has the 8 lucky horses of the emperor of China overglazed on the two sides. This is a really nice bottle.

I am not quite sure of just how old this very pretty brush pot is. It is at least 50 years and perhaps older. It is a double diamond shape which is very difficult to mold and fire and end up with such a wonderfully finished piece. It is marked on the bottom. It is a very complex molded design with four panels of women in a variety of activity. It is 3 3/4" tall and 4" long. A really good piece of workmanship.

This unusual fancy snuff bottle was made more than 30 years ago. It is unique in that it is a thin blown glass, not the thicker carved glass of most glass snuff bottles. These are hard to photograph because they are transparent, the colors are lighter than pictures show. This bottle has its original box. It is 4" tall. This doll is priced below what it cost. It is a very fine quality Folk Art doll from Japan. It is in the Gosho doll tradition of wood body, chalk white laquer skin and hand dressed in brocade. He carries a hand carved lion dancers lion mask. He is 6" tall and comes on a black laquer stand. The down turn in Japanese economy makes this a very good time to buy anything of quality that has been made in Japan, in particular in a folk art standard that is as outstanding as this doll. This very colorful rose canton ginger jar was made probably 60 or 70 years ago. Not quite antique, but old style and mark. It has thick overglaze enamel colors and a great deal of hand work. Some stamping with black outlines which indicates its age. It has no damage and is in like new condition. It is 5" high and about 5" wide. This age piece is still a very good price. These are now much harder to find and going up in price all the time. Now is a good time to buy.
