Beautiful hand decorated Black Glazed porcelain. Greek cosmetic pot. This piece is 3" wide, about 1 1/2" tall. It depicts a Greek Aphrodite, being served by her servant. Faint bottom mark. Brilliant overglaze decoration, lots of pure gold overglaze. Some of the gold overglaze banding on the side is worn, but the piece is otherwise in excellent condition. This company in Greece makes top quality cosmetic jars. This one is several decades old.
