An attractive figure from China made of soft brown porcelain. This type of figure is typical of reformation communist era art that depicted the workers rather than the Gods and Buddhas. It is well made, a very attractive clay figure with great details. I believe he is holding a plane. He is about 4" wide. "CHINA" stamp on bottom helps date the piece.
The prices on these very old, probably antique heavy copper snuff bottles are jumping up every time I run across one. They were made for export at the turn of the last century in China. They have thick gauge copper bodies and brilliant glass enamel colors fired on. They are then electroplated with 24 KT gold. The design on this bottle is a sylized phoenix, symbol of the Empress. The gold is almost always worn or oxidized. This one has the original metal with glass inset spoon and it has no damag ...click for details
Another rare find. This very tiny mudman boat with two figures has survived over 1/2 a century with no damage. There is a sitting figure at the end of the boat and another tiny sitting with in the boat. The sitting figure is about 1/4" tall, 1 cm. This very detailed dish garden figure is hand made from high fired stoneware clay. No other type of clay or porcelain can take such fine part details without breaking. This type of old and very detailed micro miniature dish garden figure is collec ...click for details
Vintage micro mudmen in a boat. High fired traditional high iron content clay is used to hand make each of these detailed dish garden figures. They are marked HongKong helps date to about 50 years ago. Remarkable for no missing parts. Two figures one with arms out standing and one sitting within the boat. You can see from the USA dime that they are about 2 /12" long, less than 1/2" tall. These are valued by both Asian and Western collectors and are VERY hard to find of this old quality ...click for details
An outstanding piece of sculpting and casting. This is a solid cast bronze from China. It is a wise man atop a foo dog-lion. It is about 3" long and 3" wide. It is about 30 years old and it is a very smart investment for the future.
You see a framed replica of a very ornate cigarette paper box from a Chinese antique. The material I cast these from is a composite stone, same materian museums use for some of there replicas. It has a brilliant gold acrylic finish. The easil frame is 4 3/4" X 6 3/4". It could be converted to hang on a wall. Very elegant and expensive look. My own original so you will not see it elsewhere.
This snuff bottle came from an estate in London. It is old, at least 70 years and it is unusual in its size of 3 3/4" tall. It has highly raised figures and is an export quality. It has no damage, base has normal firing flaws for this type of ware. Nice look, glass top with brass spoon. An old piece soon to be considered antique. A good addition to a collection and a pleasing piece to look at.
A well carved standout snuff bottle. It is a Lion-Dog Beast. Carnelian top, ivory-bone spoon. It is 2" long. Hand carved of turquoise, not the colored resin sold as turquoise, this is real turquoise. A wonderful snuff bottle.
This small 2" tall carving packs a lot of style. It is a Chinese beast of Myth. A combination of several animals, a lot of Lion. It was carved at least 20 years ago. It looks better than photos which did not capture the true soft jade like qualities of the stone.
An outstanding snuff bottle. Beautiful Serpentine Jade. Wonderful carving with 2 li Dragons as handles. Key design on bottom rim. Bone spoon. This bottle is 3" tall, 1/2" thick and well hollowed out. It looks much more expensive than my price now, and I am sure it will do better than the stock market as a term investment and something wonderful to look at while it grows in value. Not new, it is probably at least a few decades old.
