Traveling Tibetan Prayer Box Beautiful
A most unique vintage relic. This beautiful prayer box was handmade in Tibet. The front if chased in relief coin silver, with the symbols of Buddhist prosperity. The box is copper, it opens from the back to place in it a prayer. The coin silver copper round box is 3 1/4" diam. and about 1" deep. The box window contains a Green Tara Buddhist icon. The box is held in thick tapestry material and it has about a 36" tapestry panel to hang it around the neck of the faithful and carry it with them. It is about 5 decades old, looks much older, and I have seen these sold as antique, but my Tibetan friend who brought it back said it was not an antique. It would look quite grand hanging and is a fine object of Buddhist art.
