Antique Celadon Individuals Tea Pot
A most unique item and somewhat of an odd mix of qualities. This teapot was made for use by one person for one cup of tea or to be used to drink out of the spout. The porcelain clay workmanship is some what crude, with firing cracks and a primitive original lid. There are no marks. The brown iron wash on the bottom indicates it is antique and it has been used and it has all the signs of a piece at least 150 years old. What is wonderful about this teapot is the celadon glaze. It is one of the most beautiful celadon glazes I have ever seen. Rich thick and oily, seen on the finest antiques. This piece has a boy at play on one side, and a unicorn on the other. It has a dragon handle and a phoenix spout. All the bells and whistles of a really good piece. Email for more pictures, the actual green shade if somewhat hard to capture in a picture since the glaze is thick and light reflects through it.
