| These "Bed Piece Souvenirs" can be seen in "A Grosset All-Color Guide to Porcelain" and other collectors books. They were made in Germany and England. This one being German and is a bit older than the English ones. The mark on the bottom is hard to see, it may be an "L" or an "H", but the white porcelain heavy clay body and the script and colors date it to the mid to late 1800s. It is 3 1/4" X 3 1/2" tall. Has no damage. These figures were purchased by vacationers to bring back as momentos of travel. They were also naughty little curios that were popular in victorian times. A rare survivor, most of these were probably lost or broken or thrown out a hundred years ago. | ||
