| The prices on these very old, probably antique heavy copper snuff bottles are jumping up every time I run across one. They were made for export at the turn of the last century in China. They have thick gauge copper bodies and brilliant glass enamel colors fired on. They are then electroplated with 24 KT gold. The design on this bottle is a sylized phoenix, symbol of the Empress. The gold is almost always worn or oxidized. This one has the original metal with glass inset spoon and it has no damage to the enamel which often is cracked or chipped. It is in excellent condition for some thing of this age. It is 2 1/2" tall. A smart investment as these increase in value far faster than most investments. | ||
