Tibetan Buddhist Bronze "Rahula"

This beautiful, detailed Rahula is the fierce Nyingma protector deity of Tibetan Buddhism. Rahula has nine heads while each face has three eyes and a gaping mouth with exposed fangs. On the stomach is the large face of the original Rahula who devoured the nine celestial planets. The body is covered with numerous eyes. The first set of hands hold a drawn bow & arrow while the second right hand holds a makara stick and the left a snake lasso. The lower body is that of a coiled naga serpent. Rahula is 13" x 7" with a 4 1/2" base, 7 lbs, approx 35yrs old in excellent condition.
