17th - 18th century majolica portrait tile, decorated in underglaze manganese, blue and yellow with a portrait of possibly Henry IV King of France (1553 - 1610). Region of manufacture uncertain: probably North Italy or Austria. Tile measures 13.3 cm x 12.6 cm. In very good condition. No cracks, no restorations. A few small nibbles to the edges. The tile once served as a stove tile. Protruding sides on the reverse are removed.
Beautiful early 18th century North-Italian majolica syrup jar with polychrome floral decoration. Height: 20.5 cm. Old use wear to the rims. Old chip to the exterior of base and mouth, otherwise fully intact.
