A rare set of two large Roman silver fibulae, circa 1st - 2nd Century AD. With wide springs and large catch plates. Springs wound around a small bronze bar. Ending of one catch plate repaired, the other still needing some repair. Otherwise the fibulae are in excellent condition with their pins intact. Length of each is approx. 9 cm. They come with a Roman silver chain (length: 27 cm). German art market.
