Both sides of this piece are lavishly embellished with a classic floral pattern, richly worked in a leather technique that resembles the'repousse' work in silver. A finely tooled leather and suede purse from Mexico. This is one of two pieces that were made as prototype designs for a tooled purse from a taller in Mexico. The final version of the design was ultimately smaller, more compact. This wonderful bag features a beautifully worked leather outside against a rich blue colored suede. Very pretty chandelier style earrings inspired by the traditional designs of the Mazahua people of Mexico. The use of these elements -- doves, flowers, hearts, and roses -- is part of the earliest jewelry designs of this indigenous group from Mexico. Very well made and intricately designed Mexican silver earrings of traditional design. Hand made and incorporating a variety of silversmith techniques, including repousse and stamping, these lovely earrings are embellished with Austrian crystals ~ one royal blue crystals and one an opalescent crystal dangle. Dropping 1 7/8" and measuring 7/8" across. Made for pierced ears with securely fastening shepherd's hooks. Well weighted. Easy to wear and very flattering.
