One the largest, most delightful vintage wooden toys from Mexico that I have had the pleasure of coming across. This ca. late 1950s-late 1960s mechanical toy captures a group of five skeletons out for a bit of carousing in a local taverna. They are smoking, drinking, playing guitar, and generally enjoying themselves during their annual return visit to this earthly life. This charming and naive piece comes from an estate sale in Mexico City and is the work of Sr. Rebollard, who was an attorney that lived in Mexico City. Pair of vintage Mexican gold leaf angel wings. Beautiful carved wood finished in traditional estafada and gold leaf, ca. 1800s-1940s. Finely carving implies the presence of layers and layers of appropriately lavish feathering in this pair of lovely wings. Opaque style wedding pitcher features the classic graphics of the house in the country on one side and country villager out among the cactus and agave on the other side. This is a vintage Tree of Life from the Flores family, ca. 1960s-70s. Traditional Mexican folk art form hand made from clay has candle holders and polychromatic decoration. Lovely details including central Santos/Madonna figure, applied flowers and birds. In very good vintage condition with some surface scratching but appearing to be free from repairs. Colors still rich and vibrant. Stands approximately 18" tall by 14" across.
