Wonderful, large and dramatic Mexican silver filigree earrings for pierced ears. Entirely hand smithed, this design includes silver work in filigree, stamping and repousse. The earrings are based on pre-hispanic jewelry designs that have been passed down through the generations of peoples from Central Mexico. Just a handful of silversmiths and their families remain true to the tradition and the designs. A wonderful pair of earrings.

Finely smithed, traditionally designed Mexican silver earrings with pearl and garnet accents. These lovely earrings are inspired by designs that reach back into pre-hispanic Mexico. Quite likely these same types of adornments were part of the early spark for Matilde Poulat's jewelry. Smithed by hand and using techniques that have changed very little in the intervening years. Measure 2 1/4" by 1 3/8". Quite lovely and wonderful.

Quite lovely and nicely si ...click for details

Very pretty chandelier style earrings inspired by the traditional designs of the Mazahua people of Mexico. The use of these elements -- doves, flowers, hearts, and roses -- is part of the earliest jewelry designs of this indigenous group from Mexico. It would also appear to have been, at least in part, a source of inspiration for the beautiful work of Matilde Poulat. This pair are hand made -- including hand sawing and repousse work -- and are open backed allowing for wonderful illumination of t ...click for details

Wonderful, larger design, handmade Mexican silver earrings. Palomas (doves) and hand made filigree pattern inspired by the traditional adornment of the Mazahua people, an indigenous group of Mexico. All work done by hand: including repousse and hand stamping. Quite possibly one of the sources that informed the jewelry of Matilde Poulat. Certainly similar to pieces favored by Frida Kahlo. This marvelous pair hang 3 1/4". Though larger, they are still quite comfortable and wearable. A beautif ...click for details
