Hand made Mexican silver necklace based on design elements that date back to before the arrival of the Spanish. The adornments of the Mazahua women of Mexico are inspired by those things that are found around them -- doves, flowers, leaves, and (as here) butterflies. Wonderful, larger design, handmade Mexican silver earrings. Palomas (doves) and hand made filigree pattern inspired by the traditional adornment of the Mazahua people, an indigenous group of Mexico. Lovely Mexican silver filigree earrings inspired by the traditional designs of the Mazahua people. This tradition of earring making and design motifs predates the arrival of the Spanish. Clearly an aesthetic that influenced the later work of Matilde Poulat. This quite lovely pair features two doves whose bodies unite to form a heart. Charming vintage hand embroidered purse features a woman set in a field of flowers. Colorfully dressed and colorfully portrayed floral background. Terrific detail to stitch work including shoes, a hand basket for this fair maiden being held in her hands. Fringe. In very good vintage condition with some staining inside. Measures 15 1/2" by 18" including fringe (which is 1" all the way around.)
