A finely smithed pair of Mexican silver filigree silver earrings. Inspired by designs that pre-date the Spanish and which were quite likely, in part, an element that informed the original designs of Matilde Poulat. This pair, as with all the pairs, entirely hand made exhibit a lovely, flattering movement. Neither too big, nor too small --- they measure 3" long and 1 5/8" (at their widest). Lovely.

Delightful Mexican silver earrings with turquoise accents. Entirely hand made -- all pieces have been hand cut, and formed, hand stamped, polished and assembled/soldered. Design is derived from the traditional silver earrings worn by many of the women from Central Mexico. Wonderful example of inspiration found in the every day ... chickens, water jugs, doves. Very pretty, repousse Mexican silver earrings from the designs of the Mazahua jewelry. An indigenous culture occupying Central Mexico, the Mazahua women have been wearing these types of earrings for generation. Quite likely a source of inspiration for the jewelry of Matilde Poulat and a style of jewelry favored by Frida Kahlo. This pair of pierced earrings are worn in the traditional manner with the arc being essentially parallel to the neck. Quite comfortable and flattering.

Finely smithed, traditionally designed Mexican silver earrings with pearl and garnet accents. These lovely earrings are inspired by designs that reach back into pre-hispanic Mexico. Quite likely these same types of adornments were part of the early spark for Matilde Poulat's jewelry. Smithed by hand and using techniques that have changed very little in the intervening years. Measure 2 1/4" by 1 3/8". Quite lovely and wonderful.
