| Very pretty chandelier style earrings inspired by the traditional designs of the Mazahua people of Mexico. The use of these elements -- doves, flowers, hearts, and roses -- is part of the earliest jewelry designs of this indigenous group from Mexico. It would also appear to have been, at least in part, a source of inspiration for the beautiful work of Matilde Poulat. This pair are hand made -- including hand sawing and repousse work -- and are open backed allowing for wonderful illumination of the blue stone (?crystal?) element. Measuring 1 7/8" long by 7/8" wide, they would go well with other pieces of vintage silver or look quite lovely worn by themselves. | ||||||||
