| This is a rather lovely three strand of vintage Mexican silver beads, ca. 1930s. The beads are graduated from the larger center beads around to the smaller beads at back. The are nicely sized and matched. Hand smithed -- formed in the traditional way of joining two semi-spheres at the center to form the whole. Strung on what appears to be hand made silver chain. Closes at the neck back with a tongue and link type fasten. Marked with Mexico and Sterling. One strand measures 14"; next strand measures 15"; and last strand measures 16". (An extension to the back to add a bit more length could quite easily be added.) The beads retain their original oxidation. They are in fine vintage condition with age consistent wear pattern including a small dent (pin head size to the lower center bead) and s seam revealed (which are much more visible on the macro photo then in person). These multi-strands of beads are terrific in mix and match with other necklaces, more strands of beads, or with other 'stone' embellished necklaces. | |||||||||||
