| stunning relief exceptionally detailed jewelry casket. The box has relief detail throughout in silver and a gold gilt. We are not sure if the gold is plate or a brass. We will conduct a test and will change description once confirmation is obtained. For now we will say it is brass. This box goes beyond words...ornate, beautiful,stunning are just a few. This piece weighs 9lbs.It measures 8" wide 7" deep and 6" high. Sitting pretty on 4 embellished gilt feet. There is a lock but no key. The hinges are in working condition. There are 4 very detailed cherubs on each corner with a female winged face on the top lid above the lock. Silver oval plates adorn the sides and on the top. The inside has a tiered box which is removable. Top and bottom of the inner sections are lined in a royal blue velvet which is in very good aged but clean condition. The condition of the metal box is very good with some wear to the silver but not drastic and a small linear dint on the top silver oval plate. Even with this it certainly does not take away from the work in this lovely piece. There is a mark on the bottom that reads Adien Germany. | ||||||||
