Super 19th century green and white Staffordshire transferware dessert plates in the “Arcadia” pattern. Center motif of an eastern ruin in a landscape surrounded by cartouches of cows, sheep and castles. These measure 8 ¾” diameter and are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks; one has a few crazing lines and the other a teensy edge nick. Marked as shown, I would date these to C1840. Beautiful Staffordshire polychrome tureen in a brown and white transferware with hand-painted flowers in rust and lavender with green leaves. This tureen is not marked, but the pattern is identical to the Ridgway dessert service that I have, so I am attributing it to that pottery. It is in very good condition with just a ¼” nick on the underside of the rim of the base and a line on the under side of the base that is faint and only visible if you hold it upside down. Pretty early 19C blue transfer ware dessert plates in the “Chinese Views” pattern by Robinson and Wood. Center scene of oriental figures in a landscape framed by a geometric and floral border.
