$525

Here is an intriguing cigarette case. I believe the black pattern is done with niello enamel. It has a flower motif on both sides, and a blank space for a monogram on one side. It is marked (and tests as) Sterling silver. The piece measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition, though since the elastic is in such good condition, I’m assuming it is probably a replacement. I believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions.

This eye-catching brush by Gorham Corp. is meant to look like the top of an old chest, with a strapping and stud motif. The top is monogrammed with a fancy "R". It has the Gorham marks, as well as “1857 C”, “Sterling,” and the scissors mark for 1907. It measures 6” x 1 -3/4" across the top, and is in very good condition. (Please note: I have also listed a matching crystal vanity jar, but with a different monogram.)

Here is a sweet spoon by Unger Brothers, signed with their maker’s mark and hallmark, and “COPYRIGHT 1904”. The pattern is called Jonquil. It measures 4-1/2”, and the bowl of the spoon is just short of 2” across. It has a nice patina, a monogrammed M or W and is in overall very good condition. NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

Here is a silver plate serving fork made by the Niagara Falls Co. It is very pretty, with wild roses at the end of the handle, at the base of the tines, and with leaves twining up the handle. It is marked "1877 Niagara Falls Co", a stylized "e"(?), and an "8" or infinity symbol. Also "Pat. 04". It is in very good condition, with a patina of course. It measures 8-1/4" x 1-1/2", and is approx. 61g. NOTE that we will only accept a check for this ite ...click for details

Here is a beautiful pie server, in the Iris pattern used by Durgin. It does not have the Durgin maker’s mark, so I can’t guarantee the maker. Regardless, it’s very lovely. It measures 9-7/8" x 1-5/8”, and weighs 79g. It’s in very good condition overall – there are a few places on the blade where the silver looks chipped (I’m assuming the blade is silver plate, though the handle is sterling, and is marked as such). Just gorgeous. The Iris pattern was being made by 1900, but I don’t know how ...click for details

This 3-piece set consists of a fork, spoon, and pate server. We were able to find the grasshopper mark for 800 silver, 1864-1893, on two of the pieces. They are between 7 and 7-1/4” each, and weigh a total 4.04oz. They show wear commensurate with their age, and the pate server shows signs of being overheated, perhaps in a dish washer (see last photo). I’m told it can probably be fixed fairly easily. It is a very pretty set, and would grace any party or sideboard. More photos available.

Here is a signed Durgin soup spoon in the Iris pattern. It also bears the marks for the illustrious Shreve & Company. It has a “C” monogram, measures 6-3/4” and weighs approximately 53g/1.89oz. It has a patina appropriate for its age, with a few deeper scratches. The Durgin company was founded in 1853, and purchased by Gorham in 1905. Circa 1900. (PHOTO note: please ignore the camera reflections on the bowl of the spoon.) NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

This lovely spoon is graced with a beautiful columbine flower, buds and leaves, beautifully realized in pale enamels and Sterling Silver. It is engraved: "Yellowstone Park" in fancy script in the bowl of the spoon. (Yellowstone Park was founded in 1872.) It measures 5-3/4", and weighs 19.1g, and I have no idea how old it is, but it is enchantingly pretty! (Please note that photographing this piece was very difficult, so in the photo of the whole spoon, the colors of the enamel are ...click for details

This inkwell is delightful and absolutely mad! It is primarily an Egyptian Revival piece, centering the Goddess Hathor (a goddess of music, dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth [Wikipedia]). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there is a sprig of mistletoe and some other greenery tied by a ribbon with a bow. The pots (which are missing the glass inserts) have winged hearts on them, and are ...click for details

Here is some lovely late Victorian era silver. The spoon is 9” long, the knife is 10-1/2” and together they weigh 6.22 oz. The bowl of the spoon measures 3-1/4 x 2-1/2”, the blade of the knife is about 4-1/2”. They are marked with the boar’s head for 800 Silver, and with a “J” and a “G” separated by a stylized grapevine for J. Granvign. (The mark on the knife is much clearer than on the spoon.) I believe the spoon bowl and the knife blade had a gold wash, as they are still very faintly gold. Cir ...click for details
