This great pin features a large peridot (1 cm x 6 mm or 3/8” x 2/8”). On either side are pearl-set clover heads. Flanking those are 3 demantoids on each side, plus 1 above and 1 below the peridot. (There are horsetail inclusions in 5 of the 8 demantoids.) Off to either side is a whiplash of pearl-set gold. On the back, “15ct” is carved into the gold. I can’t test for 15k, but it tests as a strong 14k. The pin stem assembly is original, and it weighs .18 oz or 5.1 g. It measures 1-9/16” x 5/8”. 3 ...click for details

This very Victorian stick pin depicts a crescent moon, arrow, and star motif. It is set with several turquoises and one seed pearl. Unmarked, it tests as 14k gold. The head measures 7/8” at the widest point; the whole thing measures 2-7/8”. As you can see in the photos, the pin is somewhat bent toward the top, though when worn this would not be visible. Otherwise in excellent condition, weighs a substantial 2.6g, and circa 1900.

This sweet and delicate Victorian ring is made from 9kt rose gold, 2 opals, 2 green garnet-and-glass doublets (doublets are very common in Victorian jewelry), and 8 tiny seed pearls. It is a bit over a size 5-1/2. The setting measures 1/4” N and S, and ½” E and W. The maker’s mark is a Maltese Cross. The opals have a couple small chips, and I have had the setting laser soldered where there was a break. Despite all this, it’s really pretty! NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. So elegant! Measuring 17-5/8”, the delicate chain is adorned by 3 roses, each with leaves below. They are spaced by beautifully decorated chain links, for better draping. The rest of the chain consists of a further 12 fancy links included in the chain. Each fancy link measures 7/16”, and each rose is ¾” x 5/8”. It weighs .15 oz or 4.2 g. Very feminine, with a maker’s mark beginning with “B” – the rest is illegible - and the French eagle for 18k gold. Circa 1900.

This brooch is an interesting combination of Nouveau and Edwardian styles, and bears a remarkable similarity to a couple pieces by Whiteside & Blank that I’ve seen recently; however it isn’t signed. The pin consists of a framework enameled in palest green, in a formal Edwardian key pattern. In the middle is a sprig of Nouveau leaves with a pearl berry with the stem twining around the framework in back. An interesting juxtaposition. There are 3 other pearls. It is hallmarked 10k on the C-clas ...click for details

Here is a lovely simple bracelet that will grace any outfit, from jeans to a silk ensemble. Made into a bracelet from a Victorian watch chain, it is composed of links of 9k rose gold, each one hallmarked 9 and 375. One link has the mark for Chester, England, and a date stamp which I can’t quite make out. The later clasp is of 14k gold. It weighs 36.8 g, or 1.30 oz. It’s 7” long, and 1/2” wide. In excellent condition.

This lovely brooch, depicting two ginkgo leaves centered by a baroque half-pearl, is almost certainly French. It measures 2-1/2” by 3/8” at the widest points, and tests as 90-100% silver. It is signed “DvMont” – for DuMont? - (or possibly “DvKont”) in fancy script, and has an illegible maker’s mark in a diamond-shaped lozenge. There is also a hallmark which I can’t quite make out. The outline looks like that of the eagle used to denote 18 karat gold, which is odd. The clasp is an old trombone, a ...click for details

Here is a pretty sterling buckle with a floral motif. The plique is red, 2 different blues, and green. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. It is has marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. It measures 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", and weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It’s in quite good condition. The plique has a few hairlines and many bubbles, neither of which is uncommon. The red and blue plique is dark, so it’s not very visible in the photo. The red plique appears to have some very fine th ...click for details
