This brooch is classic! It features a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The central pearl is most probably original, but the pearl dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). It is marked with the French eagle on the C-clasp, along with an illegible maker’s mark. There is also a fairly clear but partial mark on the pin stem, and a faint mark on the dangle’s ring. The workmanship is excellent, and it’s in wonderful condition. 1-1/2" from side to side, and ...click for details

Here is a lovely pair of white gold fronted double cuff links. Each end is marked BELAIS 14K W.G. FRONT, and is a rectangle measuring 5/8 x ½”, with rigid connectors, hinged at one end. They weigh a total of 5g or 0.18oz. Belais Brothers were amongst the first to develop a formula for white gold (their patent was for 1917). Many consider them the premier workers in white gold, and their work is highly collectible. In very good condition. Circa 1920.

This little oval locket is fairly plain, having a oval design with a place for a monogram, should you wish it. It measures 13/16 x 5/8” not including the findings. It is set up with rings and plastic/celluloid (or whatever it is!) for 2 photos inside, and it has a photo of a gentleman in a sweater (on a sailboat?). Marked 9ct and “BK & FT” on the back. Circa 1915.

Here is a very rare and splendid red-eyed dragonfly, most likely from Germany. It is sterling silver with a gold wash, and marked “STERLING” and “DEPOSE”. There is also a partial maker’s mark, possibly for Meyle & Mayer, who were producing enameled jewelry in Germany at the turn of the last century. The plique shades from yellow through turquoise to a dark blue. A few of the central plique panels have some cracking (fairly standard for these lovely old pieces), but almost no bubbles (not so ...click for details

A very lovely orchid realized in rich 14kt yellow gold, this pin has detailed gold work, an Old European Cut diamond (etw .30 - .35), and a fan pearl. It is 1” by about 7/8”, is quite dimensional, and SO Nouveau! It is unmarked, but based on its construction and the gold content, I believe it was made in Newark, NJ. There is a minor problem with one of the petals - it is detached at its central anchor point, but is firmly attached to the pin apparatus. My jeweler told me that it doesn’t actually ...click for details

This lady was quite possibly made over from something else, and is quite attractive. Approximately a size 5, and it should be fairly easy to re-size. The lady in her frame measures 5/8 x 9/16” at the widest part. The ring shows a nice patina - it has clearly been worn a lot, and loved. I haven't done anything to clean it - I leave that up to the buyer's taste, but I would leave it as it is. It is stamped STERLING, and weighs 4.4 grams. Circa 1900.

This sweet little Victorian ring is made from 9kt rose gold, 2 opals, 2 green garnet and glass doublets, and 8 tiny seed pearls. It is a bit over a size 5-1/2. The top measures 1/4” N and S, and ½” E and W. The maker’s mark is a Maltese Cross. The 2 opals are chipped, and I have had the setting laser soldered where there was a break. Despite all this, it’s really pretty! And remember, the enlarged close-up photos really highlight any imperfections, which are far less visible when a ring is worn ...click for details

This romantic portrait in silver, of a wind-swept person in a cloak and hood, is very detailed and just lovely. I tend to think it’s a boy, as the hair seems to be quite short under the hood. The hood itself almost looks more like a cap made from a flower, like those Victorian fairies wore in the paintings in children’s books. It measures 1-1/8” wide, is hollow, and is marked “STERLING TOP, GERMAN SILVER BACK”. The back is a little bit tarnished, and the German silver has worn off at the botto ...click for details
