Old Chinese beehive or bell form Yixing pottery teapot engraved on one side with a calligraphic inscription and on the opposite side with a floral spray. An impressed mark is on the underside of the lid. The interior pouring hole has a rounded cover with numerous small holes which act as a strainer. Estimated to date from the from the Cultural Revolution period (pre-1980). This teapot measures about 7" in length from the handle to the spout and about 3" high to the top of the lid. Old Chinese Yixing pottery teapot engraved on both sides with long calligraphic inscriptions. The handle, pouring spout, and lid handle are all in the form of bamboo. A three-character impressed seal is on the underside of the lid (see enlargement). The interior pouring hole has 7 small holes which act as a strainer.
