Nicely crafted Tibetan flint decorated on the front with a central butterfly motif clasp. The back is accented with four round yin/yang symbols. Dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with a wonderful aged patina. These functional Tibetan fire starters were often hung from belts. This piece is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
