2 Chinese Famille Rose Eggshell Porcelain Export Bowls
Pair of Chinese famille rose eggshell porcelain export bowls with mirror images of court ladies fishing in a boat and at leisure in an outdoor setting. A fine black enamel patterned roundel is in the center and a black ruyi border encircles the rim. An inscription is on the side and an overglaze orange-red four-character apocryphal Qianlong mark is on the recessed base. The two bowls have custom-made silk stands and are in the original fitted silk presentation box. 20th century (probably Republic period). Each measures 5 3/8” diameter x 2 5/8” high (3 3/8” high on the stands). The box measures 13” x 6” x 6 ¼.” The bowls are in very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. The door of the box is slightly warped. These bowls are from an old Tucson, Arizona estate.
