| Chinese Guangxu period Cizhou style stoneware figure moulded in the form of a young seated boy with arms folded at his chest decorated in a creamy white finely crackled glaze with facial features, tufts of hair, collar, and clothing executed in light and chocolate brown. There is a small vent hole in his back. Stands nearly 9" high. Circa 1900. Very good overall condition. One foot has an original kiln flaw and there is a small area of glaze loss on his right buttocks which might be from the original production. This piece is from the private collection of a former American diplomat to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987. | |||||||||||||
