Chinese Ming Blue & White Porcelain Guan Form Jar
Chinese late Ming dynasty porcelain guan form jar with wide shoulders tapering to a flat, unglazed base decorated in underglaze blue with lotus flowers and scrolling foliage on a white ground. A short, cylindrical neck ends with an applied light brown wash at the rim. The interior is fully glazed. A luting line is faintly visible at the waist and can be seen and felt on the inside. Measures 5 7/8 high by about 5 diameter. 17th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. From the private collection of a former American resident in Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
