Japanese Meiji 5 Piece Kyoto Satsuma Kinkozan Tea Set
Japanese Kyoto Satsuma tea service consisting of a lidded tea pot, a lidded sugar bowl, a creamer, and two cup and saucer sets. Each piece is decorated with polychrome enamel butterflies, wild flowers and grasses set against a cream colored crackle glaze ground. Green bamboo form handles accent the serving pieces. Most pieces bear the red “Kinkozan” signature. Circa 1885. The measurements are: tea pot 4 ˝”H x 6” across (from the handle to the end of the spout), creamer 3 7/8”H, sugar bowl 3 ˝”H x 5” across, saucers 5” diameter. Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. There is some old staining to the crackle glaze ground.
