| Pair of Chinese porcelain reticulated marriage lamps. Each of the six-sided shades is painted in bright famille rose enamels with mirror image floral roundels set against peach perforated panels which are bordered with a yellow enamel ground decorated with scrolling leaves and flowers. Horizontal bands with perforated flower head silhouettes surrounded by scrolling foliage and flowers set against a blue background border the top and bottom of the panels. Yellow ground borders accent the top of the shades and the separate, electrified bases. 12 ¼”H each. Late 19th to early 20th century. A trace of an iron red mark (possibly for “China”) is visible on one base. Very good overall condition. One lamp shade has had fine quality restorations which are not visible to the eye. The electrified additions date from the early to mid-20th century and should be redone if used. | |||||||||||||||
