Chinese Qing Guangxu Famille Rose Porcelain Ginger Jar

Late Qing (late 19th century) turquoise ground famille rose porcelain lidded ginger jar. The jar is finely decorated in rich polychrome enamels with the "Eight Buddhist Emblems" which, together with the shou (long life) medallion on the lid, were typical motifs on jars intended as wedding gifts. 6-character zhuanshu Jiaqing (1796-1820) mark to base but Guangxu period (1875-1908). About 7 ¼” height and diameter. Very good overall condition with a small old very thin chip to the rim. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1988.
