Korean Choson Yi Ichung Nong Stacking Chest Side Tables
Korean Choson (Yi dynasty) two-section ichung nong (wardrobe chest) with two stands decorated with brass hardware. This flexible piece can be used as a single stacking chest or as two side tables. Persimmon wood front panels. 39 1/2"H x 28 3/8"W x 13"D (each section about 23"H on a stand). Circa 1880. Very good and solid overall condition with some slight puckering and separations in the burl wood veneer. The hardware was recently polished by the previous collector but should regain a nice patina in time if desired. The top of the chest on the left appears slanted but that is a distortion from the photography. Please contact us for out-of-state shipping quotes.
