Chinese Wool Hand-knotted Minority Prayer Rug Xinjiang
Old Chinese hand-knotted wool prayer rug woven with a design of various geometric patterns. Estimated to date from the early 20th century. Measures about 51" long (excluding fringe) by 27 1/2" wide. Very good overall condition with some areas of wear evident. This piece is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s. The tag indicates it was purchased in Xinjiang.
