Chinese Qing Folk Art Burl Wood Tobacco Container Box
Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) lidded burl wood folk art box with a hollow interior. These containers typically hung from a belt by the cord and were designed to carry tobacco. 3 3/4" tall by 3 3/4" wide at the edges of the fitted lid. Very good overall condition with significant patina evident. This piece is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
