On the waist continuously decorated with flowers, flying birds and insects. On the shoulder and neck floral decorations. Floral decorated with hatching-lines on all six sides, neck and foot. It is not a Chinese way of painting on porcelain and may have been influenced by the Dutch. Baluster vase. Provenance: China. Dating: Kangxi period (1662-1722). Baluster vase on a footring with a glazed base, decorated in underglaze blue. Mounted with a Dutch silver neck and lid and decorated with a squirrel climbing through branches of vine. On the Silver neck there is an engraving of an anchor within a heart. The lid itself is engraved on top with the year "1926".
