French School, c. 1815. Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of a very pretty young woman, in profile, with upswept dark curls, wearing a pink dotted dress with lace collar. Embossed brass frame. Oval, 6 cms. X 5 cms. (2 1/2 inches X 2 inches). Excellent condition, the pink gown being particularly unusual.
