Gertrude Clarke, c. 1900. Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of a woman with upswept hair, wearing a pink lace dress. Velvet back. Oval brass frame, 6 cms. X 4.5 cms (2 1/2 inches X 1 3/4 inches). Gertrude Clarke was from Burton-on-Trent, England and Edgbaston. She exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1910-1914.

Richard Cosway, c. 1795. Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of a gentleman, wearing a double-breasted blue coat with brass button, white waistcoat, and large tied white cravat, his hair powdered. Gold frame. The reverse glazed to reveal gold monogram, "JAP", on painted dark hair. Oval, 8 cms. X 6 cms (3 inches X 2 1/2 inches). Fabulous miniature! Provenance: Scottish National Portrait Gallery, 2000 - 2003.
