The watercolour on ivory portrait depicts the young man, with powdered natural hair and brown eyes, in 3/4 pose, facing slightly to the right, wearing a dark jacket, with white waistcoat and cravat. Portrait of a little boy by Frederick Buck. The water color on ivory, 1/2 length portrait depicts a lovely little boy with long dark curls and large brown eyes, wearing a dark blue suit with wide lapels and brass buttons, and a white shirt with large frilled collar beneath. Sky background. Gold frame with hanging loop and engraved rim. Hair back with the central initial cartouche, "JHD". Oval, 5 cms. diameter (2 inches). Very good condition.

English School, c. 1830, portrait miniature painted on porcelain. The oval head-and-shoulders portrait of the young gentleman depicts him wearing a black coat, violet waistcoat, and black cravat. Set in a gilt-metal locket, the lid with raised monogram "WED". Locket 6 cms. X 4 1/2 cms. (2 1/2 inches X 1 3/4 inches) Portrait 5 1/4 cms. X 4 cms. (2 inches X 1 1/2 inches). The rectangular, half-length, portrait depicts a child wearing a violet-coloured dress with gold shoulder straps, playing with a dog. Stone background with sunset landscape in the distance.
